Cummings just another chapter amongst volumes of disasters

The actions of Dominic Cummings has infuriated the majority of people in this country. The defence of him by the Tory Party hierarchy is inexcusable. When tens of thousand of people across this country did the decent thing and abided by the government message to "Stay Home, Save Lives, Protect the NHS", Cummings saw himself above this, pushing the recommendations to beyond the limit. It is definitely a case of one rule for them and another for the rest of us. It is yet another piece of incompetence from the Boris Book of Disasters.

The Liberal Trade Unionist Group have no faith in this incompetent government to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic or to deliver a Brexit which does not usher in a bonfire of workers rights and regulations which protect consumers and the environment. In addition to this, the country then has to face a situation where the cost of Covid-19 will have to be paid for. We fear that cost will be on the shoulders of workers and the vulnerable and not those with the broadest shoulders. We fear to make Britain competitive against the economies of countries such as China, wages will be capped and driven down in real terms, with the cost of Covid-19 used as am excuse to divert eyes from the real intentions of the Tory agenda. As trade unionists we need to shine a light through this smokescreen as it emerges and put the real facts to the British people.
